Tussock Bend, Twizel
During 2018 Dimension Building built our house at Tussock Bend in Twizel.
Because we had already spent some time planning the house we had a reasonably set idea of what we wanted to achieve. We were however also open to changes. Richard quickly gained an understanding of our goals and was able to make further suggestions that were complementary to our ideas yet added features we had not thought of. In this regard he struck exactly the right balance between reflecting our wishes while advising us and guiding us through the possibilities.
There were two potential (and linked) challenges for us as we contemplated building the house. The house was to be built in Twizel and we were based in Timaru and we both had busy jobs which entailed unusual hours and travel out of town. Therefore, mutual trust and good communication with our builder were non-negotiable priorities for us.
Richard fulfilled these requirements to a high standard. He invariably kept us up to date with progress and came back to us promptly when we asked questions or needed guidance. When necessary he visited us at our Timaru base in the evening and we appreciated his flexibility in doing this. We felt relatively relaxed leaving the project largely to the builders and confident in their ability to problem-solve when necessary. The final product is proof that our confidence in Dimension Building was not misplaced. Where there have been minor follow-up touches needed these have been attended to.
Perhaps unusually, quite a few of our friends and relatives who were interested in our long-awaited project, dropped into the site in Twizel at odd times. All of them commented on the pleasant and open reception they got from Richard, Jack (the Project Manager) and the rest of the Dimension team.
It is easy for commercial companies to claim that they are passionate about what they do and really care about their product. We are happy to say that, in the case of Dimension Building, these claims are definitely not just hype.
